Nissin Gundam Cup Noodles

Wake up in the morning, hungry... carry a kettle to boil some cup noodles~

Cup noodles, the ones we usually see in anime shows.  They can never get tired eating this because it's convenient and cheap.

This is one cool Nissin Cup Noodles commercial I've ever seen.  RX 78-2 Gundam is such an icon.  It looks realistic here.

So here's the actual product of the RX 78-2 Cup Noodle.  It has a nice refill cup.  I wonder what it taste like.   It's a waste to use it though if it's limited edition.  I'd probably keep it as a collectible.

Gunpla Tutorial: Real Grade 1/144

The Real Grade (RG) line of Gunpla is a new line released by Bandai. These consist of Mobile Suits from both the Universal Century and the Alternate Centuries. The RG line combines the best aspects of the other three Gunpla lines: The small size and affordable prices of the High Grade, the advanced inner frame technology of the Master Grade and the massive part count of the Perfect Grade. The RG line is known for the Advanced MS Joint where the inner frame of the suit is placed on a single gate for easy construction. Also, the RG line reflects what a mobile suit would look like if it were built in the present day. The tagline for the Real Grade line is "Excitement Embodied".

The Best of Anime 2011 (Sept 18, 2011)

(credit to: otakucosplayph for the picture) Since the ticket we bought was uh... not that appealing (more like a movie ticket)

We (Cloud and Tifa) attended the 2nd day of "THE BEST OF ANIME 2011" at the SMX Convention Center on Mall of Asia. We decided to come early so that there are still only few people and we can take lots of clear pictures on each booth.

Sam's Maid Cafe

Marriage Booth - Marry your favorite anime character

Japan Foundation

Lego.. Out of place?

Anime Merchandise
Our visit to the event wouldn't be complete without buying souvenirs. But not much though compared to the previous conventions.

This is where we bought our Cloud and Plue t-shirt

Chikara hats.. (as usual)

Anime accessories (rings, necklace, keychains, etc.)

Custom shirts

Lots of cool anime toys (Figma, Nendoroi, etc.)

Gashapon

GUNPLA Building and Paneling Contest
The Gunpla Building Contest continues on this event. This time the model to be build is the FG 1/144 Exia Gundam. We're assuming that the contest focuses on the FG 1/144 models. Now that's challenge to all gunpla builders out there.

They all look alike. But only one will be the winner.

Video Games Area
There's also an area for those who love to play video games. Just pay 50 pesos and you can play all you want.

Drawing Area
Amazing artists sharing their talent to everyone. There were even schools promoting their courses for arts and media.

This one is co cute!

 Toy Display
One of the best attractions of the event are the toy display. Just look on how detailed each model is. It really makes you want to take a lot of pictures. There were a lot of great figures, but these were the ones that stand out the most.

Hatsune Miku

Danny Choo's Mirai Suenaga

Marise Kurisu (Steins Gate)

Gundam
Aside from the gunpla building contest, there are also gundam models displayed on the glass shelf. They are still the usual models you see on every convention, but still its fun to take pictures of them. There's even a giant statue of the 00 Raiser Gundam.

Giant size 00 Raiser Gundam

Transformers
Aside from the gundams, there's also a section for the transformers models.

Cosplay
Of course the event wouldn't be complete without cosplayers. There were a lot of cool cosplayers compared to the previous events. One of the best costumes were Voltes V, Voltron and Ultrazord (too bad
we weren't able to take pictures of them).

Choose the best cosplayer contest

Madara Uchiha (Naruto)

Dark Magician Girl (Yu-gi-oh)

Roxas (Kingdom Hearts)

Simca (Air Gear)
Dragon Ball group cosplay

Cloud Strife (female version)

Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail)

Inuyasha (femail version)

Bumblebee (Transformers)

It was great and tiring day for the BEST OF ANIME 2011. We expected something better and special from the event since its being held at a large venue. There could have been more booths and activities since there were plenty of empty spaces. But still we were satisfied in attending the event. We were able to see lots of cool cosplay and watch the otaku got talent show. Then we bought a nendoroid of miku, and custom t-shirts of Cloud and Plue as souvenirs. Too bad there weren't any cute anime or kamen rider figures like what we saw from the previous convention. We hope that the next convention would be much better than this with lots of booths and merchandises to purchase.
