The official Gundam.info portal site announced that the Mobile Suit Gundam UC video anime series is getting a television broadcast run in Japan under the new title of Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 starting on April 3. The series will air on Sundays at 7:00 am on TV Asahi and its affiliated networks.
The anime is being reedited for the television version, and it will also feature a new opening and ending theme with new animated footage. It adapts Harutoshi Fukui's original Mobile Suit Gundam UC novel series, which is mainly set in the year Universal Century 0096, 16 years after the events of the One Year War depicted in the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime, and three years after the Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack anime film. In a renewed conflict between the Earth Federation and Neo Zeon remnants, the Vist foundation has a potentially devastation secret from the founding of the Fedearation a century before.
