[Review] Tamashii Mix - Rockman X (Giga Armor)

*Got the fireball effect part from a separate MegaMan figure.

Review:
This is one of the toys I highly anticipate and I was so lucky to get it at a good price. Inside the box is Rockman, Rush Jagd and his armor parts. Let's start the review with Rockman X himself. I was surprised that the figure was made of metal and is quite heavy. All the parts from head to toe are well detailed. Articulation is good on the neck, arms and especially, the legs. Too bad there's no articulation on the waist and hand. There are no replaceable hands either. It only comes with a pair of closed fists. But it has a special gimmick and the first of it's kind for Rockman X figures. Both arms can be twisted to switch into the Mega Buster. That's what I call convenient.

Moving on to Rush Jagd. Just like with Rockman X, it's a bit heavy since it's also made with metal. Details and articulation are good. All 4 legs has specific joint movements; the tail, ears, head and mouth are movable as well. By twisting it's joints and combining the armor parts, it turns into the Cavalerie that looks like a hovercraft. There are pegs around Rush Jagd, so make sure that all the armor parts are secured in place to prevent them from falling off. Rockman X also sits properly in place while gripping the handle of the Cavalerie. It also comes with it's own base for easier display.

Last but not the least of it's feature is the Giga Armor. Putting the armor parts on Rockman proves to be challenging and will really test your patience because they don't really lock in place and will fall off with minimal movement. But if your able to overcome that, this figure is a masterpiece for display. Good news is that it can stand on it's own and doesn't have any weight issue despite the wings on the back. Alternatively, the wings can transform into a bow by attaching it to the right buster arm.

The opportunities I saw on this figure is the lack of replaceable hands and face swaps for better expressions, and of course the feeling of irritation every time an armor part falls off. But this are some things that can be worked on. Overall, this is the best Rockman X figure based from its details and gimmicks. Some may not agree, but as of the moment there's no other Rockman X figure that can compare to this one. You'll just need to be really patient in putting the armor parts and posing the figure. This one gets a perfect score from us. This is one of the toys where you'll get your moneys worth.

Rating: 5 out of 5
