Gunpla Checklist: Gundam Z / ZZ (UPDATED 2017)

             This is a gunpla checklist for the Z and ZZ Gundam series. I made this post to help those gunpla collectors in knowing how many model kits are there in the series and what models are available for each scale. This is one of those series that's got a long list of gunpla model kits. All of the MS and Gundams from the anime got a gunpla. There are a lot of different scales and most of these models has a custom version. It even has a 1/300 scale. That's probably the smallest scale I've ever seen.  As of now there are a total of 136 model kits for the Z and ZZ Gundam series. Some of the model kits are already old and may be hard to find. But overall, the Z / ZZ is a great gunpla series to collect. I will update the list if Bandai releases a new model kit.

Gunpla Checklist: Gundam G

                   This is a gunpla checklist for the G Gundam series. I made this post to help those gunpla collectors in knowing how many model kits are there in the series and what models are available for each scale. This is another gunpla series that has few model kits. But even if that's the case, it's a good thing this series got a 1/60 scale. As of now there are a total of 37 model kits for the G Gundam series. Overall, this series is fun and easy to collect. I will update the list if Bandai releases a new model kit.

Dream Wedding for Gundam Couples

Before the gundam was redeploy to a different area in Japan, a wedding company called Take & Give Needs (T&G) offer a wedding package to let customers celebrate their undying love while blessed under the gundam statue.  The package was available last 2009 from July 11th to 26th, with the last date in August 31 when the gundam will be shut down.

So what a perfect way to exchange wedding vows for the lucky gundam couples.

Out of 500 gundam couple fans, this lucky couple were chosen to celebrate the first Gundam themed wedding event for that year.

Both were long time gundam fans of the original series and choose the package to renew their vows.  Being such avid fans they even named their daughter "Seira" after the character Sayla Mass.
Aside from the usual white tuxedo suit the groom always wear in the wedding, this lucky man wore a suit based from Amuro Rei's uniform, the main protagonist of the original series.

Tomino Yoshiyuki, the original director of the series, was present at their wedding.

It's just too bad I didn't get to witnessed such event at that time.  I hope T&G offers again this kind of wedding package the next time I come over to Japan.  Ha! You don't get to see this kind of wedding themed besides Star Trek or Star Wars.

Review: HG 1/144 Reborns Gundam

Review:

              There are already a lot of mode changing gundams and the Reborns is the probably the best. This is the only gundam that has a back to back mode change: gundam mode in the front and cannon mode on the back. The reborns has only a few equipments: a colorless beam saber, gn shield and gn rifle. Other than that, you get two closed hands for the gundam mode and another two hands for the cannon mode. Since its a transforming gundam, you can expect a lot from its mechanism and articulation. You will also notice that the Reborns is a little bit taller than the other HG models because of its heels.

               The kit comes with panel line stickers which I didn't use because the marker is much better. For details, I added some gold paint to the shield, face and thrusters. I also put some green glitters to the middle thruster for gn effects. I don't have anything bad to say about this model. Its just that the kit lacks some armaments, specifically the egner whip and one more beam saber. If you don't have this kit yet and wondering on what gundam model to buy next, then you should put the Reborns Gundam HG on top of your list. This model kit is so great that Bandai should make a MG or PG out of it.


Suggestions:
- There are two sword hilts, so there should also have been two beam sabers.
- The beam saber should have been orange instead of colorless.
- It would have been nice if there was some effects in the kit for the GN Fin Fangs, similar to the dragoon system effects of the HG Legend Gundam from the Seed Destiny series. That would have been cool.
- The Reborns Gundam deserves to have a MG scale.
